After an extremely successful Idols season last year,the Reality TV phenomenon returns to our shores this year.

Last year’s Winner,Dave Van Vuuren,released late last year and is on his way to superstardom,just as the previous season’s winner,Elvis Blue,who has gone platinum already,with his debut self-titled album.

Winning the competition isn’t the be-all-and-end-all,if you look at artists like Lloyd Cele,Daughtry,and Adam Lambert,who have all catapulted to the top of the charts without winning.

Our very own Chad Saaiman as well as Mathew Moolman come from the hands of the competition,and have worked at their careers post-Idols,and have had great success in doing so.

We urge up-and-coming singers to enter the competition,become the next South African Idol!

This is what Chad Saaiman had to say on Facebook, “I urge up-and-coming singers to enter Idols,if you feel that you are good enough.Also,if you are ready for rejection,because that’s a part of the music industry.It only makes you stronger.Added to that,I say use the competition to your advantage,as a stepping stone and a catalyst to achieving your goals and dreams.Go!”

• Durban: Ushaka Marine World – Saturday, 11 February
• Cape Town: Grandwest Entertainment World – Saturday, 18 February
• Kliptown, Soweto: Walter Sisulu Hall – Saturday, 25 February
