Chad Saaiman collaborates with US producer Ron Feemster
Roughly 2 months ago we received an email regarding a collaboration with an American producer, and in true STR fashion we seized the opportunity with both hands.
Ron Feemster is a legendary producer who has produced for Michael Jackson, Jay-Z, Keyshia Cole, Mary J. Blige, Neyo and many more. The choice to work with Chad Saaiman, one of SA’s fastest rising stars, was an easy one. Candice Martin, Ron’s media liaison made the connection and soon the magic started. Chad and Ron met and hit theStereoType Records studio immediately and something special happened along the way.
”From the 1st chord he played I jumped onto a melody and a hook, which ended up being the melody on the final recorded song,” says Chad.
Ron was so impressed by the creative synergy and energy, that he canceled an outside session to record the song at the STR Studios the very next day. “I wrote ’till the early hours of that morning to ensure that this would be a song of an undoubtedly international standard, with a much broader audience in mind,” says Chad regarding the writing process. The newly formed partnership returned to studio and recorded the soon to be smash hit “Untouchable,” which Chad describes as “An emotional, edgy, slightly dark but ultimately victorious song.”
The recorded track was sent to the States to be mixed by Bob Horn,a good friend of Ron’s ,who had previously mixed for superstars such as Usher, Akon, Musiq Soulchild and Timbaland, amongst others. The first draft returned the next morning and in the space of 2 and a half days, we had a song completed.
Ron is fully convinced that “Untouchable” is a hit and so is Chad. So,we’re in for something really special, as the song has made it’s way to the US to be put on the market. When in an interview on GoodHope FM’s Nigel Pierce Show, Nigel asked Ron who his favourite artist was, Ron simply and sincerely replied,”Chad Saaiman”
The StereoType Records crew would like to say a huge thank you to Candice Martin and Sam for supporting and believing in South African talent enough to make the connection, which Chad humbly described as “Life-changing.”
