Yes, you did read that correctly. StereoType Records is selling Chad Saaiman’s debut album Chasing Melodies for only R100. Although it was tempting to charge more for such a finely crafted, beautiful and soulful album, in the end we realised that if we want to see a change in the music industry (specifically around the high price of music) then we need to lead from the front. Although even if we did charge more, it still would have been worth it!
Chasing Melodies is a self written journey through the heart and mind of award winning artist Chad Saaiman, a talented young Cape Town singer songwriter. The album transitions smoothly from fresh and funky feel good tracks such as the radio hit “Moving On” through to touchingly soulful ballads like the Stevie Wonder tribute “I wonder.”
With radio play on loads of local and national radio stations and rave reviews from every listener (so far), Chad Saaiman’s Chasing Melodies are set to be the next iconic South African R&B album. Cape Town showed Chad lots of love by awarding him The Best of Cape Town Award for Best Performing Artist and now he’s set to stamp his mark firmly on the city and the nation with the release of Chasing Melodies.
Chasing Melodies will be available in all good stores soon, but for now you can pick up a copy from Debut Clothing in Access Park or from any member of StereoType Records (Lester Hein, Ebrahim Mallum, Chad Saaiman or Lee Saaiman).
We’d love to know what YOU think of Chasing Melodies, so please submit your comments on what you think of the album (you can add comments just below this post).
