Byron Clarke: The London Diaries 23 September

23 September – Thursday

London. I woke to a slight drizzle and a minor shift in climate. I remembered that all my towels had been taken out of my bag because of the weight, so I had to ask for a fresh towel. In this city it is already evident that people are so much busier, yet relaxed in a sense – as crime and a degree of poverty has not really presented themselves to my senses. There is a greater feeling of freedom!

Sha and I had a mild writing session and planned some studio time. Later that afternoon I made my way to the Hoxton hotel to meet the London based  StereoType Records team, Liz, Brendon, Yolanda, and Conrad  from Kudu marketing(extremely influentual man).

We sat and discussed the route forward – everyone is extremely enthusiastic. I almost felt as though the pressure to produce was heightened. Never-the-less I reminded myself that I’m here to take my career to the next level. Between my meetings I walked back to the residence only to discover that I was lost! I panicked a little, and hurt my heel from walking, and walking, and walking. I eventually found the hotel again, thank goodness. I left the hotel that night after 8 and went straight to the residence, this time with the route cemented in my brain. I doubt that I would make the same mistake again! Sha and I went to the nearest Iceland supermarket, in pounds, everything is unbelievably cheap. Sha cooked up some of his popular pasta (or so I was told). Our roommate, Maria, a fashion student, joined us for dinner and we had an extremely fascinating discussion about our respective creeds, religions and cultures. After dinner I was even more tired then yesterday, said my prayers and off to bed…

We’re taking over London!
